\nI love exploring new organic hair care products. So I couldn\u2019t pass up the opportunity to pick up the Moisturizing Collection from Triesta Organics during an Instagram promotion last year. Now that it\u2019s been a few months of trying them out, here is my review of these natural hair care products.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Moisturizing Collection from Triesta Organics is valued at $110 and, during the promotion, I picked mine up for only $16.99 – the price of shipping. The collection includes 4 full-size bottles: the Clarifying Treatment, Moisturizing Shampoo, Moisturizing Conditioner & Blow Dry Styling Gel. When I received my order, it actually arrived with a bonus item: a free candle.<\/p>\n

The products arrived in this amazing packaging and perfectly packed. It was a delight to open this box!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

But before I start my review, I wanted to quickly describe my hair type and texture. I have damaged hair and split ends from years of constantly coloring and bleaching my hair. I have a dense head of hair and it can get pretty heavy. It\u2019s medium to thick hair but tangles easily. Now onto the reviews of each product.<\/p>\n

Clarifying Treatment<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It\u2019s only appropriate to start with step 1: the Clarifying Treatment. I was new to clarifying shampoos or treatments but it was very easy to use. I applied it on wet hair and rinsed it off before using the shampoo. This clarifying treatment is intended to remove chemical buildup, enhance natural oils in hair and reduce split ends. While that all sounds amazing, it seemed to do the complete opposite. It made my hair feel greasy, oily and unnourished. At first I didn\u2019t realize that this product was the cause of my problems. So I would use more and more of the clarifying treatment in the effort of trying to remove all the product buildup in hair. This is actually the reason I finished the product but it\u2019s safe to say this was my least favorite step in the collection.<\/p>\n

Moisturizing Shampoo<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Step 2 is the Moisturizing Shampoo. The bottle says it helps clean your hair without stripping it of its oils for a healthy hair and scalp. It\u2019s made with African Black Soap and other lovely ingredients. For the most part, it is too light of a shampoo for use after the clarifying treatment of this collection. Since step 1 is ineffective, this shampoo doesn\u2019t help remove the product buildup in my hair and doesn\u2019t leave it feeling clean. Alone, the shampoo is okay. After using it, my hair feels dry, not clean enough and very tangled. Sometimes I ended up using too much shampoo looking for that clean and refreshing feeling but never achieving it. It smells amazing and I think that might be the reason I ended up finishing the bottle.<\/p>\n

Moisturizing Conditioner<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Step 3 is the moisturizing conditioner. It\u2019s designed to help detangle you hair, reduce hair loss and create shiny and smooth hair. Step 1 influenced this product too. So it felt like too light of a conditioner. It didn\u2019t help with my tangled hair and it wasn\u2019t good for my hair type. At first I ended up using the conditioner in small dosages because I assumed it was the problem. But after using more product, I still didn\u2019t see any improvements the moisture and shine of my hair. It also didn\u2019t help detangle my hair. It only made my hair look dull and I could never tell if I properly rinsed out the conditioner in the shower.<\/p>\n

Blow Dry Styling Gel<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Then we have the step 4: the Blow Dry Styling Gel. This product is described as a weightless formula that nourishes your hair, protects from your hair from the use of styling tools, controls frizz and soothes your hair. I have to admit that I didn\u2019t like the smell of this gel. It wasn\u2019t unbearable but it also wasn\u2019t pleasant. I used the gel to style and blow dry my hair. It does protect the ends from the damaging heat of styling tools, which was great! But I don\u2019t think the formula helps make your hair look healthy or shiny at all. So I try to use very little product and only on my ends. I still have the majority of the bottle left but I don\u2019t gravitate towards it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Candle in Cabana<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This candle was a bonus item as part of my order. It’s in the scent called Cabana which smells like coconut lime. But it’s not only a candle, you can use it as a massage oil or moisturizer – which is why it came with this little spoon. When the product is still warm, you can use the scoop some out to use on your skin. I really wanted to try out this product but unfortunately,\u00a0I noticed that it had fragrance as an ingredient. Although the other ingredients were great, I was hesitant about the fragrance. Great bonus item though!<\/p>\n

Final Thoughts<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Now, as for the collection in general, I love the concept of products and how each one is designed as a step in your hair care process. Unfortunately some products aren\u2019t pulling their weight so the idea falls a\u00a0 <\/span>little flat for me. My least fave product was definitely the clarifying treatment. I believe it was also the reason I didn\u2019t like the entire collection at all. It failed at prepping my hair for the next steps and caused everything else to fail for me. If I would try this collection again I wouldn\u2019t use the clarifying treatment.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also, I loved that the ingredients in every product were incredibly clean and organic. It was always a delight to read the back of the bottle.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

There is something to note about the design of the bottles. Visually, the design is stunning and it looks great in any bathroom. But I began to notice that every time I would use these bottles in the shower, I would drop them constantly. At first it was funny but then it became a little more frustrating than I\u2019d like to admit. This was a result of the finish on the caps of the bottles. With any contact with water, the lids would become too slippery and drop from my hands. It\u2019s not a huge issue but I did believe it deserved a mention.<\/p>\n

While the products didn\u2019t work for me, I don\u2019t think that they are completely terrible. But I certainly don\u2019t believe that the collection is worth $110 or each product is worth $32. It seems too much for their performance and results in my hair. Now I understand that the ingredients are mostly organic and that brings up the price tag. But the results aren\u2019t worth the $110 price tag. Luckily, I was able to try them for free not including shipping so I didn\u2019t have to pay that much.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Overall, these natural hair care products were a \u201cmiss\u201d for me. But I\u2019d still love to check out any future Triesta Organic product releases. I\u2019m always looking for the next best thing in organic and natural hair care.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
